What I have been loving at the moment...

I feel like the last few months have been pretty interesting for me beauty-wise. I always loved beauty but the past few months, I have been really finding products that suit me, my skin type and products that work for me. In this post, I am going to be giving you a run-down of a few of my favourites including one miscellaneous product thrown in for good measure.. a candle!

Lush Sleepy Body Lotion: I love this little pot! I love lavender and this body lotion is the perfect scent of lavender. It's not too sweet but sweet enough. Perfect for putting on after you've had a hectic day, got out of the shower and put on your fav night wear. It's definitely lush (excuse the pun!)

Urban Decay All-Nighter: I have got the travel size of this spray as I had never tried it before despite hearing countless good reviews and it definitely does live up to its hype - I will be buying the full size when this runs out! It does exactly what it supposed to amazingly - keeps my make-up on all day (or night!)

Revolution Foundation Stick: This was a new release when I first tried it and I love it. I have a shade a bit too dark for me but once blended that small error is unnoticeable and is wearable. Its long lasting and definitely gives full coverage. I have normal/combination skin so this type of foundation is perfect for my skin type. Will definitely be repurchasing.

Maybelline Face Studio Primer: This stuff is amazing! Does exactly what it says on the packaging - minimizes and blurs pores. I use this under my foundation and I also find it helps my foundation last longer too which is fab! Love Love Love!

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion: Despite being 24 (25 in July) my skin stills plays up and presents me with a little spot, or two, very occasionally. This drying lotion helps dry my spot up and it is gone within a day or two (or at least is reduced). I was recommended this and I really like it. Would definitely consider using other Mario Badescu products in the future. I want to try their facial toning mist.

LAB Lemon Vanilla Candle: I loveee this candle (and candles in general!). This one by LAB has a lovely sweet scent - Lemon, Vanilla with a hint of Coconut. Its very refreshing! and I am 100% repurchasing in the future!

Have you tried any of these products?
Also let me know in the comments below what you've been loving recently. Style wise, beauty, skincare or miscellaneous!

London Fashion Weekend

If i've learnt anything over the past few days, its definitely that I need to enter more competitions! I won two competitions that Very.co.uk hosted on twitter last year and on Tuesday, I found out I had won my first one of 2016 which was the chance to go to London Fashion Weekend = every fashion lovers dream.

I have never attended fashion week (or weekend) before so having the chance to go on Saturday for the first time was nothing short of amazing. I went along with my sister, Megan and we had the best day ever! As two fashionistas we were living the dream being surrounded by beautiful clothes, makeup, hair products and more beautiful clothes!

We set off at one and caught the train into town. After having a spot of lunch we made our way
to the Saatchi Gallery. There was a range of gallery rooms with collections by different designers including Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and Burberry. Two words: Fashion heaven!

Although LFW is mainly about clothes, style and fashion, beauty stills plays a big part in the fashion industry. Maybelline was one of the beauty brands that attended LFW this season. They were offering makeovers and even had a photobooth where you could put on your best model pose - obviously we had to have a go! I bought a few products from the makeup stand as Maybelline is by far one of my favourite high street affordable makeup brands.

The LFW trend show was partnered with Very Exclusive (an online shopping destination) and brought the key trends of SS16 to the catwalk. The trends that were showcased included Americana, Beautiful Botanicals, Pop Art Brights and New Romance.

Americana

This trend was dominated by bold stars and stripes in the USA colours red, white and blue.

Beautiful Botanicals

This trend is bringing floral prints back in a big way for the upcoming season.

Pop Art Brights

This trend saw the models dressed head-to-toe in bold colour and this also included the makeup - bold eye and lip looks.

New Romance

This trend will see us embrace our inner romance with delicate feminine looks in the prettiest of pastel shades. This is the trends of ruffles, lace and silk.

How pretty is the rose gold satchel on the top row next to the trainers!?!

What a fantastic day. Having had my first taste of LFW, I am definitely hoping to attend in September!

Have you attended LFW? Or any other fashion week across the globe?
What are your favourite trends for SS16?

Maybelline Baby Skin Pore Eraser Primer

Long time no blog! Cannot believe I haven't wrote a post in over a month now - having no internet for almost two weeks and work are my two main reasons for no posts -  but I'm back today (with the intention to post a lot more often!) with a review of Maybelline's Baby Skin Primer.

I bought this a while back as I had read a lot about it but had no real intentions of actually liking it - but I really do - its been a staple in my makeup bag ever since! I didn't really think primers make much of a difference to the overall look of a makeup look but what a difference it makes! Its a lovely lightweight gel textured primer which Maybelline claims 'instantly erases the look of pores' - I wouldn't say it erases them 'instantly' but after your foundation is applied, it does make them less noticeable and really makes a difference to the look of your skin.

As it is gel textured, it is really easy to apply and sets to give a smooth finish. It definitely works great as a smooth canvas for your foundation and also another definite positive is that its a real steal at only £7.99 - and is also part of 3 for 2 on selected make-up items at Boots at the moment! If you are looking for a inexpensive great primer and makeup base - I would definitely recommend trying this!

Zoella Beauty 'Blissful Mistful' Body Mist

Everyone has probably heard of Zoella's beauty line - Zoella Beauty - by now - I mean, if you haven't then where have you been? So, when Zoe's beauty range was released in September last year, I had to buy something from the line and picked up the Soap Opera bath soak and shower cream (which I done a review on here) and also really wanted to pick up this - the body mist but everywhere I tried had sold out so I put it on my Christmas list and I got it as one of my presents from my parents.

Its a lovely fairly sweet scent and it comes in a small square glass bottle. The packaging is typical of the whole range - pastel pink, polka dots and the body mist has a rose gold lid which is typical Zoe Sugg style and of course not forgetting her signature logo on the front of the bottle. The size of the bottle is fairly petite and is the perfect size to fit in a handbag to top up throughout the day.

Have you tried anything from Zoe's beauty line?

November Favourites

Long time no blog! November has been a really busy month for me - I finally got a job after months of applying and although its only as a part-time christmas temp, I'm really enjoying it! - so I've had very little time to post but here I'm back today with a new blog post - my monthly favourites for the month of November! Enjoy!

I have been loving so much this month and have looked forward to showing you what I've been loving! Everything is beauty and skincare related and some things are new and others are products I have started using again.

Products I've Been Loving:
Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara
Tangle Teezer
Zoella Beauty Soap Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream
MUA Heaven and Earth Eyeshadow Palette
Yes To Tomatoes Daily Clarifying Cleanser
Good Things Five Minute Avocado and Goji Berry Facial Face Mask
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Rio Rush
Rimmel Stay Matte in Ivory

Firstly is the Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara. I bought this mascara over a year ago and then over the summer I started using Barry M's Lash Vegas but in the last few weeks I have been loving this one as I feel it gives my lashes a natural longer look and doesn't clog them. I also love Maybelline's Falsies but this one is my personal favourite. Next up is my Tangle Teezer. I love this! I mainly use this when my hair is wet but I also like to pack it in my bag for when I'm out and about. A definite beauty must-have!

Next up is a product from Zoella's beauty line - the Soap Opera Bath Soak and Shower Cream. I picked this up at the end of last month and have been using it every day since I bought it. It has a sweet floral-like girly scent and is my favourite bath product at the moment. I have even added the body mist from her collection to my Christmas list! I don't really tend to wear eyeshadow on a day-to-day basis but this month I have been loving the MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. The palette is a gorgeous selection of brown and nude colours which a mixture matte and shimmery shade - perfect for the Autumn and Winter months. I really love MUA palettes as they are super pigmented and long lasting and of course - a really affordable price (I think this palette was £4.00! - what a bargain!).

My skin in the past few months - Since around Late September - has been anything but clear and acne free and on twitter - laurenmwelch if you want to follow! - earlier this month I asked (using the hashtag #bbloggers) if anyone had any recommedations of any good high street skincare products for acne prone oily/combination skin and someone suggested the Yes to Tomatoes range so on my next shopping trip, I picked up the Daily Clarifying Cleanser. I have been using this for the past two weeks and although my skin is still not very clear, I definitely feel an improvement in the appearance of my skin. Another skincare product I have been using is the Good Things Five Minute Facial Face Mask. I picked this up earlier this month and although I have only used it twice, It left my skin feeling soft and clean and I really like it and looking forward to using it more in the upcoming months.

I love lip products and am always on the look out for new ones to try out and this month I have been loving Revlon's Colorstay Moisture Stain in Rio Rush. Its a beautiful bright pink and is a mixture between a lip stain and a lipgloss, although its not as sticky as a lipgloss when worn and is very long lasting. Its a beautiful colour and I know that I will get used out of it even in the warmer months.

Lasting, is a product that I have come back to over the last month - Rimmel's Stay Matte Foundation. I am a huge lover of Rimmel foundations as I also really love Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation. I have decided that I really love to wear this foundation through the colder months more than the warmer months as its a lighter shade for when I haven't got a tan on my face. Its a great consistency and has very good coverage.

What products have you been loving this month?

Topshop Lipstick | Rio Rio

It feels like I haven't posted on here for ages but it's only been a week since my last post! Anyway, today I'm back with another post about a beauty product I have been loving lately and its a Topshop lipstick in Rio Rio! This is the first ever purchase from the makeup collection in Topshop - I know, I know where have I been? - I just have never really been interested in buying anything beauty related as its a clothing store and in all honesty thought it wouldn't be that good but was I wrong - I love this lipstick!

I really wanted another red lipstick - but one that had orange undertones - and when I saw a review on this lipstick recently I thought I would take a leap and buy one from everyone's fave - Topshop! I have been wearing this non stop since I bought it just two weeks ago and it is definitely one of my favourite lipstick and will getting a lot of wear over the upcoming months - especially over christmas!

So, what do I like about it?
- Its super hydrating - some lipsticks can be very drying but I find this one very moisturing and doesnt make my lips feel dry at all.
- It long wearing - It lasts hours and you wont have to keep reapplying throughout the day!
- Its very pigmented - as you can see from my photos it is very pigmented!
- Wearable for both day and night.

What I don't like about it?
- My only critique is the price. I dont know if its just me but I think the reason I haven't purchased anything sooner from Topshop makeup collection is because I feel that they are slightly overpriced - especially for a clothing store makeup collection BUT I do like it and think it is very good quality!

Do you have any favourite lipsticks from Topshop or any other product from the makeup collection at Topshop?
