New Haircut, Stripes & Denim

T-shirt Dress - Forever 21
Canvas Shoes - Primark
Denim Jacket - Topshop

Long time, no blog but fear not as I'm back today with not just another post but a style one! My first intentions when I created hellomisslauren almost one year ago (one year on the 29th of June I believe?) was to upload mostly style posts with the occassional beauty ones but that was not meant to be as most, or basically all!, my posts have been beauty related. With summer just a stone throw away now, I am hoping to upload outfit posts (or style posts in general) a lot more often!

I took a trip to my hairdressers yesterday for a hair appointment so these photos were taken when I got home, before I changed into my work uniform for a shift that afternoon, as I love my new hair and also really liked my outfit! I bought this t-shirt dress in the January sales at Forever 21, my canvas shoes are from a recent trip to Primark and my denim is new too and its from everyones fave - Topshop!

Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

'Head Over Heels' Topshop Cream Blush

So last week, my sister and I decided to head over to do some sales shopping in Westfield Stratford City and obviously a shopping day is not complete without a little trip into Topshop! I really love their lipsticks (not a huge fan of their nail polishes though) but I've really wanted to get my hands on one of their blushes as I have heard - or read! - so many great things about them so when I saw this - Head Over Heels Blush - in a mini set with Topshop's Wicked Lipstick - I had to buy it! Not to mention the set was six pounds for both the blush and lipstick! Bargain!

First things first, I am totally won over with any makeup that comes in cute packaging and how cute is the packaging of this blush? Plus the fact that it also comes with a mirror is brilliant. The pan of the blush is also great as its big enough so you can use any brush that you prefer.

'Head Over Heels' is a beautiful pink/coral which would make the perfect summer blush although as its new I couldn't resist using it now even though its only January! It is a cream blush which is one that I have never tried before but I really like it. It very pigmented so you do need to be careful when applying. I apply it lightly to the the apples of my cheeks using the Real Techniques Blush Brush and it gives a natural peachy glow.

So overall I really love the shade and am looking forward to collecting some of the other Topshop shades and wearing it more throughout the next few months and of course, into the summer!

My Top 3 Winter Lipsticks

No matter how you are feeling, putting on a bit of lippy will instantly make you feel better and today's post focuses on my favourite winter lip colours. I love lipsticks - I much prefer them to lipglosses to be honest -  but although I love make-up, I don't actually own that many lipsticks, probably only around 10 (that may be a lot to some people though!).

For winter, like many girls, I prefer to wear a dark lip and Rimmel Kate 107 is the perfect one! If you haven't already heard of this lipstick on a blog or a beauty YouTube channel then where have you been?! I first saw this lipstick on Zoella's channel and blog where she was talking about her monthly favourites (maybe around a year or so ago) and I instantly feel in love with it. Its a beautiful deep berry toned purple. Its long-wearing and very pigmented and is a perfect colour for the colder months.

Next is a a lippy for Topshop. This was the first ever purchase I made for Topshop's beauty collection (I know?) and I can say, although this is the only lipstick I have from Topshop, I know that I would love all of their lipsticks (Unfortunately, I'm not a big fan of their nail polishes though) so I trip to Topshop in the January sales in definitely happening! This a lovely red shade and is very pigmented. With Christmas in just 3 days!!, I will probably be wearing this a lot over the next week or so!

Lasting is a new favourite that I purchasing just this week. Its Maybelline Color Sensational in Hollywood Red. I went into Superdrug for a new face wash and ended up walking out with some false eyelashes, a mascara, this lipstick and yep, you guessed it - no face wash! Hollywood Red is a actually not very red toned despite being called 'Hollywood Red'. I would say its a very light berry toned pink and I absolutely adore the colour when its applied. Its very moisturizing and is long-wearing.

What are your favourite lipsticks for the winter season?

Topshop Lipstick | Rio Rio

It feels like I haven't posted on here for ages but it's only been a week since my last post! Anyway, today I'm back with another post about a beauty product I have been loving lately and its a Topshop lipstick in Rio Rio! This is the first ever purchase from the makeup collection in Topshop - I know, I know where have I been? - I just have never really been interested in buying anything beauty related as its a clothing store and in all honesty thought it wouldn't be that good but was I wrong - I love this lipstick!

I really wanted another red lipstick - but one that had orange undertones - and when I saw a review on this lipstick recently I thought I would take a leap and buy one from everyone's fave - Topshop! I have been wearing this non stop since I bought it just two weeks ago and it is definitely one of my favourite lipstick and will getting a lot of wear over the upcoming months - especially over christmas!

So, what do I like about it?
- Its super hydrating - some lipsticks can be very drying but I find this one very moisturing and doesnt make my lips feel dry at all.
- It long wearing - It lasts hours and you wont have to keep reapplying throughout the day!
- Its very pigmented - as you can see from my photos it is very pigmented!
- Wearable for both day and night.

What I don't like about it?
- My only critique is the price. I dont know if its just me but I think the reason I haven't purchased anything sooner from Topshop makeup collection is because I feel that they are slightly overpriced - especially for a clothing store makeup collection BUT I do like it and think it is very good quality!

Do you have any favourite lipsticks from Topshop or any other product from the makeup collection at Topshop?
